In this way, we bring to the world the benefits our people have enjoyed since the beginning of time, while honoring our environment, giving back to our community and always respecting all living things on earth.
OUR COMPANY
Wembé, a privately owned Paraguayan company headquartered in NYC, is dedicated to making the highest quality Fair Trade and organic products. Using indigenous and renewable rainforest ingredients, harvested in an ethical and renewable manner, we strive to help preserve the rainforest and its diversity. Every item we offer is hand made in our Paraguay workshop with pride and care, fulfilling our commitment to provide meaningful employment to our local populace. Our line of exotic cleansing bars and bath salts is offered on our website, as well as a select group of retailers in the United States, Europe and Asia
OUR HISTORY
Three years ago, a young Paraguayan mother and her son, Rolando Zuccolillo, dedicated themselves to perfecting an extraordinary handmade soap unique to the Amazonian region. By blending tropical ingredients found only in the rainforest, essential vegetable oils and moisturizing butters, they created the first Paraguayan organic soap. They called it Wembé, which is a derivative of the Guarani “guembe,” the exotic fruit of the Southern Atlantic rainforest valued for its many beneficial characteristics. The name pays homage to Paraguay and the natural plants and herbs which form the basis of the Wembé product line.
Today, with the expansion of the brand, Mrs. Zuccollillo oversees product development and manufacturing in their Paraguay plant while Ronaldo heads up marketing, sales and distribution from their New York headquarters.
